Opening day in Indiana was a bummer. It started with 3 trespassers camping on our property with their tents and camp fire set up 15 yards from the “New” tower stand. I rousted them out of their tents at 6:30 in the morning and asked them to leave. After they argued with me that they were on National Forrest property and I reminded them that they had driven thru a gate to get to where they were and had driven past our cabin to set up camp they finally agreed that they may have been lost. I told them I wouldn’t call the Squirrel Cops if they would pack up and leave. They did but not before more debate on us not having the property posted sufficiently enough. I guess you need a sign on each and every tree, post and anything else that will hold one. We are surrounded by thousands of acres of government property but the only deer seem to be on our private property or so you would think from their actions. Their camp area ruined the new tower stand for opening weekend, from the fire they built to the garbage and human waste left in the area.
